Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA5) donates financial gift to Society's Council of LA

Dr. Carmen Estrada-Schaye (l) of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA5) presents a $5000 check to David Fields, executive director of the Society's Council of Los Angeles.

The Society's Council of Los Angeles on Friday received a $5,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Los Angeles (LA5) to help purchase appliances for its new family housing project on Virgil Street near Hollywood.  The new housing complex is scheduled to open later this year.

Closing 2011 & Welcoming 2012 this Weekend

As 2011 comes to an end, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul thanks its wonderful 'Vincentian' volunteers and donors for their support of the Society's charitable programs and three thrift stores in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Oxnard. Because of YOU, countless lives were changed for the better during a difficult economy.

Reminder - Year-end tax savings can be had for YOU today! Financial gifts and usable donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics and vehicles can be made by calling 323-224-6280 or 1-800-974-3571. Donations are tax deductible as the law allows.

The Society asks for your continued support in 2012 so that many more children, women and men may see their lives enhanced through St. Vincent de Paul's outreach programs.

Shop & Eat at SVdP Store in L.A. on April 9

Find low-priced items for your everyday needs on April 9 at St. Vincent de Paul's store in Los Angeles, and eat until your heart is content. Jose O'Malley's Cuisine truck will be at our store, 210 N. Avenue 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. serving up a wide array of delicious food items! A percentage of each food sale will benefit the Society's charitable programs.
