Closing 2011 & Welcoming 2012 this Weekend

As 2011 comes to an end, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul thanks its wonderful 'Vincentian' volunteers and donors for their support of the Society's charitable programs and three thrift stores in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Oxnard. Because of YOU, countless lives were changed for the better during a difficult economy.

Reminder - Year-end tax savings can be had for YOU today! Financial gifts and usable donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics and vehicles can be made by calling 323-224-6280 or 1-800-974-3571. Donations are tax deductible as the law allows.

The Society asks for your continued support in 2012 so that many more children, women and men may see their lives enhanced through St. Vincent de Paul's outreach programs.

Santa Claus & St. Vincent de Paul brighten Christmas for a single mother and her daughter

Santa Claus made a surprise visit to a young single mother and her daughter on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Santa brought toys for the child, 3, and a decorated Christmas Tree, television stand and coffee table from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for the mother.

Prior to Santa's visit, there was nothing in the small apartment that indicated that it was Christmas, and the TV she had sat on the living room floor.

Upon seeing the gifts, tree and furniture, the mother leaped in the air with excitement.

Avenue 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. serving up a wide array of delicious food items! A percentage of each food sale will benefit the Society's charitable programs.
