The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Welcomes Kolping Youth Camp
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is pleased to welcome visitors from the Kolping Youth Camp. Kolping is an international Catholic organization which combats poverty and helps hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The group of German youth is here to help in a re-organization project at St. Vincent de Paul’s Thrift Store in Los Angeles. Many of the young men and women have been traveling around the globe volunteering at schools, hospitals, and homeless shelters. They all agree that it is a great way to meet new people with the same ideology while improving the lives of those in need. It is a great short term mission for those who do not have the time to commit to longer projects. They will spend 19 days in Los Angeles hoping to gain new philanthropic experiences through social work, family interaction, and activities with the homeless, as well as getting a little siteseeing in.
