Council holds General Meeting

The Council recently held its General Meeting at St. John Eudes Church in Chatsworth.

Most Reverend Gerald Wilkerson, D.D., V.G, Auxiliary Bishop of the San Fernando Region, attended and said a few words, while Monsignor Peter Nugent of St. John Eudes gave the meal blessing.

Among the highlights, Council President Jim Weiss spoke about the new Long Beach store and introduced David Fields as the Council's Deputy Executive Director, while Executive Director Jose Rossier gave his report on Camp, the Camper by Camper Gala, an update on the office construction and more.

Four new Conferences also were recognized. They included St. Finbar, Burbank; St. Sebastian, L.A.; St. Raphael, L.A.; and Mary Immaculate, Pacoima. The latter three Conferences are Spanish-speaking, which is greatly welcomed in a region as diverse as Southern California. As of today, the Council has 15 Spanish-speaking and two bilingual Conferences.

We thank and praise God for these new Conferences and the Vincentian volunteers who make up each Conference. May God guide each of you as you do His work in your respective communities.
