Expanding the World for Children through Camp
Danny is a 10 year old, fifth grader, with a 3.6 GPA at Guardian Angel Catholic School in Pacoima, California. Guardian Angel Catholic School is located next to government housing projects where many families cannot afford a quality education for their children. Like 98% of the students who attend Guardian Angel, Danny receives the vital financial aid that is providing him with a strong educational and spiritual foundation. In addition, Guardian Angel provides young children, like Danny, with many after-school activities to help expand their opportunities in life. Danny participates in extracurricular activities like basketball, soccer and the music program.
However, the staff at Guardian Angel Catholic School, along with other Catholic Schools serving low-income families, know that additional life experiences for the students, such as camp and meeting children from all over California, provide them with an even wider view of our world. Guardian Angel School is one of 23 member schools of the Catholic Schools Consortium that benefit from a grant that together with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Circle V Camp make this experience a reality for these students.
