SOCIETY MAKES LIST OF TOP STORES IN L.A.

Society employee Connor Johnson discovered this information online and brought it to our attention: our Los Angeles thrift store has made a list of top places in the city for decor, furniture and home inspiration! The website article does "highlight amazing, quirky, weird, bargain and specialty shops for everything from a couch to a lampshade."


CLAIRE PADAMA A TOP FIVE FINALIST, IN THE WOMEN MAKING A DIFFERENCE AWARDS

Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles' Board President Claire Padama was one of five top finalists for the Los Angeles Business Journal's Women Making a Difference Awards, in the Volunteer of the Year category for her volunteerism with the Society. Padama attended the luncheon and awards ceremony Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live hotel in Los Angeles. Padama was one of 800 attendees at the event and 200 women nominated for the following 2013 categories: Rising Star, Volunteer, Philanthropist, Corporate Advocate, Executive, and Business Owner. Padama was nominated for the award by Society board co-vice-president Ursula H. Hyman. Congratulations to Claire Padama on being a top five finalist!

RECORD NUMBERS FOR CAMP OPEN HOUSE

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles' Circle V Ranch Camp had a record-breaking 280 attendees at the camp open house last weekend. "I am excited by the interest and enthusiasm of our visitors and look forward to a great camp season," said camp director Ray Lopez."Come join us at camp!"

On Frederic Ozanam's 200th birthday Vincentians from Our Mother of Good Council (OMGC) Conference in Los Angeles donated sleeping and duffel bags for disadvantaged children to take to Circle V Ranch Camp this summer. Thank you Vincentians of Our Mother of Good Council!
