YOUR Support is Needed this Christmas!


This Christmas, various Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conferences (groups of year-round volunteers) are collecting new toys, food and financial donations to help make the holiday season a memorable one for thousands of homeless, disadvantaged and working-poor families and individuals.

The following is a list of St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and their Christmas needs:

GLENDORA

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Dorothy Conference (241 S. Valley Center Ave.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 15 boys and girls, ages 2-16.
* Food Baskets – Canned yams, canned pumpkin, stuffing, evaporated milk, peanut butter, jelly, cake mixes and frosting for 50 families.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the needed food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Dorothy Conference, 241 S. Valley Center Ave., Glendora, CA 91741. Donations can also be dropped off at the above address until December 16. Information: 626-914-3941, ext. 127.


LOS ANGELES

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Our Mother of Good Counsel Conference (2060 N. Vermont Ave.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 90 boys and girls, newborn to age 18.
* Food Baskets – Canned hams and non-perishable items for 75 families.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Our Mother of Good Counsel Conference, 2060 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90027. POMONA

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Madeleine Conference (931 E. Kingsley Ave.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 150 boys and girls, ages 1-12.
* Food Baskets – Frozen or canned hams and turkeys, yams, rolls, instant potatoes, pies, macaroni, loaves of bread, canned vegetables, canned fruit and candy for 75 families.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

POMONA

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Joseph Conference (1150 W. Holt Ave.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 300 boys and girls, ages 1-11.
* Food Baskets – Canned hams, canned fruit, canned vegetables, bags of rice, bags of beans and pies for 100 families.
* Adopt-A-Family – Sponsors sought to adopt 25 families in extreme need. Each sponsor would purchase gifts and food for the family. (Note – Please call for family size and needs, Dec. 7-17).
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Joseph Conference, 1150 W. Holt Ave., Pomona, CA 91768. SOLVANG

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Old Mission Santa Inés Conference (1760 Mission Dr.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 378 boys and girls, ages 17 and under.
* Food Baskets – Variety of staples, including cereal, beans, rice, oil, flour and more for 160 families. No canned goods please.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Old Mission Santa Inés Conference, 1760 Mission Dr., Solvang, CA 93463. Donations also can be dropped off at the above address from November 20 to December 16. Information: 805-686-9933.


SAN DIMAS

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Holy Name of Mary Conference (724 E. Bonita Ave.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 400 boys and girls, ages 17 and under.
* Food Baskets – Frozen turkeys, canned yams, canned fruit and canned cranberries for 200 families.
* Adopt-A-Family – Sponsors sought to adopt 10 families in extreme need. Each sponsor would purchase gifts and food for the family. Sponsors can select families until December 10.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Holy Name of Mary Conference, 724 E Bonita Ave., San Dimas, CA 91773. Donations also can be dropped off at the above address from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday-Friday, until December 17. Information: 909-599-1243, ext. 138.


SANTA CLARITA

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Santa Clarita Conference (23233 Lyons Ave., Newhall)

* Adopt-A-Family – Sponsors sought to adopt 100 families in extreme need. Each sponsor would purchase gifts and food for the family. Sponsors can select families to help before and after all Masses on November 20-21, 27-28 and December 4-5.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase gifts for the families.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 23233 Lyons Ave., Newhall, CA 91321. Donations can be dropped off at the above address during all Masses, plus the weekend of December 11-12. Information: 661-259-5470.


WOODLAND HILLS

Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s St. Mel Conference (20870 Ventura Blvd.)

* Toys - New and unwrapped for 250 boys and girls, ages 6-15.
* Adopt-A-Family – Sponsors sought to adopt 125 families in extreme need. Each sponsor would purchase gifts and food for the family. Sponsors can select families to help at all Masses from November 28 to December 19.
* Financial Gifts – Monetary donations to help purchase the toys and food.

Financial gifts – earmarked ‘2010 SVdP Christmas Help’ – can be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Mel Conference, 20870 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91364. Donations also can be dropped off at the above address from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from November 28 to December 19. Information: 818-340-6020, ext. 3001.
