Italian singer Desiree Migliaccio to help San Pedro's poor through a benefit concert

The Society's Mary Star of the Sea Conference in San Pedro will host an Itlaian concert and dinner on December 29 to help raise funds for the local homeless and disadvantaged.

Desiree Migliaccio, a well-known performer from Ischia, Italy, will be donating her musical talents to help the Society improve the quality of life for local children, women and men.

The concert, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will be FREE, but a free-will donation is requested to benefit St. Vincent de Paul's outreach. You also can arrive early and enjoy a delicious catered Italian meal that will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $20 for adults and $10 for children under twelve years of age. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

"I am pleased to donate my time to put on this concert for such a wonderful cause," said Desiree, whose aunt, Terrie Post, is a member of the Society's Mary Star of the Sea Conference. "I just encourage everyone in attendance to please make a generous donation in one of St. Vincent de Paul's baskets that evening to help with its local outreach to those who are struggling in this difficult economy."

Among her many accolades, Desiree finished first in 2008 at the 62nd European Competition for Young Opera singers. Recently, famous Italian director Ennio Morricone chose Desiree as a Solo Soprano for the Tour Cinema Concerto of Themes.
